Europe may be famous for its history, monuments and sightseeing, but summer is for
enjoying the outdoors. For hiking, cycling, swimming, splashing around in the water and
exploring your limits.
Our starting point is the costal town of Negombo. Today we have a free day to explore the Negombo beach and the Lagoons.
Overnight stay at Negombo.
Day 02 – Negombo to Habarana.
Drive to Habarana which will be our center for Elephant safari in one of the three major National parks (Minneriya/Kaudulla/Eco-Hurulu) according to time of the year.

Day 03 – Habarana to Kandy.
Today we visit the Unesco world Heritage Site Sigiriya. There is an option to witness the sunrise from the top if you are an early bird. After breakfast drive to Kandy. On the way visit Dambulla cave temple. Which is another UNESCO site with cave paintings going back centuries and filled with more than 160 statues. olulu Zoo are divided into three main areas: the Tropical Forests, the Pacific Islands and the African Savannah. Within these areas you will see over 250 different mammal, reptile and bird species in areas designed to closely replicate their natural habitats.
We drive past Matale, which a famous town for its Spices. There is a chance to visit a spice garden to learn more about Sri Lankan Spices.

Day 04 – Kandy.
In the morning visit the Temple of the tooth relic, our third UNESCO heritage site visit. This temple is the most sacred temple for the Buddhists in Sri Lanka.
If lucky we can witness the morning ceremony for the Tooth relic.
Rest of the day is free to explore the bustling markets of Kandy or visit the world-renowned botanical garden in the close by Peradeniya.
In the evening there is an option to watch a cultural dance and fire dancing performance by Sri Lankan artists for one hour in Kandy.

Day 05 – Kandy to Ella.
Drive to the hill country Nuwaraeliya, also known as Little England. On the way there is a chance to visit a tea factory. Sri Lanka produces some of the world’s finest tea and in the factory you can learn all about it.
Nuwara Eliya is a beautiful hill town with its colonial charm still peeking through. A small city tour around the town will give a glimpse of its charm and we can visit the historic Grand hotel for a coffee if you fancy.
If possible, we can take a train from Nanu Oya to Ella, which is one of the most scenic train rides in the world, going through the endless lush tea plantations, small communities, Hindu temples and beautiful landscapes.
We get down in the beautiful Ella, which has a charm of its own with cozy cafes and local souvenir boutiques.

Day 06 – Ella to Galle.
Drive to the coastal town of Galle. In the evening visit the UNESCO world heritage Galle Dutch fort. Galle fort is a living fort and one of the best-preserved Dutch forts in Sri Lanka. It is one of the best places to witness a sunset and walk in the paved streets, lined with local souvenir shops and ice cream parlors.

Day 07 – Galle to Colombo.
Drive to the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. City tour of Colombo.
