Drive to Anuradhapura. On the way visit a coconut plantation to watch toddy tapping the art of skillfully extracting the sweet nectar from the coconut flower. There is a chance to taste the sweet toddy as well. In the afternoon visit the Mihintale, the cradle of Buddhism. It is an iconic temple with a long history and ancient stupas on top of a mountain.

In the morning, explore Anuradhapura historical site on bicycles including the 2600-year-old Bodhi tree. Enjoy a picnic lunch under the trees. After a rest at the hotel, in the evening, come back to Ruwanweliseya. This is the best time to sit and enjoy the serene environment around the great Stupa, watching the thousands of devotees engaging in their rituals, meditation and offerings.

Drive to Polonnaruwa, on the way stop at the impressive and massive Minneriya tank built in the 3rd century AD. Cycle around the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. Visit the Polonnaruwa museum.

Drive to Dambulla. Enjoy a village tour on Bullock carts, boat on the tank, tuk tuks and participate in a cooking demonstration and taste authentic Sri Lankan rice and curry. Afternoon go on an elephant safari in one of the National parks.

Drive to Nuwaraeliya, a small hill town which retains its olden charm. After a brief city tour around the town drive to the Nanu Oya train station. Take the train from Nanu Oya to Ella, one of the most scenic train rides in the world. Evening free in Ella to explore this little cozy town.

Trek up Ella rock in the morning. Afternoon zip line with Ravana zip line. And a small 20 min climb will take you to the 360 degree view point, known as the little Adam’s peak. The famous nine arch bridge is another small walk away.
